Update on Flood in Java and Sumatera of Indonesia
Residents living along the Ciliwung River, in particular at Cawang, Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta and Bukit Duri in South Jakarta were forced to evacuate as the river breached its banks early Tuesday.The water level at the Ciliwung River increased due to incessant rain in Bogor, West Java since Monday night.

 The latest update at Manggarai sluice gate stated that the water level reached up to 800 cm.According
to staff at the Manggarai sluice gate, the increasing water level is
not only occurring at Manggarai. “At Katulampa, water at the sluice 
there has reached up to 100 cm.


While in Depok, the water is at 145 cm,” said Anton.In Riau, at least 12,614 families on Monday were facing evacuation following the overflow of a major  river in the province.


Earlier, at least 1,012 families were forced to evacuate.An
official from the National Disaster Management Agency, Alius, said the
residents were evacuated to shelters in Pekanbaru, Riau.



  The local government has provided more than 20 shelters for the flood victims, Alius added.Meanwhile,
the head of public relations from the Riau Government, Surya Maulana,
said that several schools in the province were forced to close due to
the floods.


In Bengkulu, dozens of houses and hundreds of hectares of paddy fields were inundated in Tanjung Jaya, Serut River district, Bengkulu due to incessant rain since Monday night. The rain also overflowed a number of rivers, including the Bangkahulu River.Meanwhile, four villages in Majalaya district, Bandung regency, West Java still inundated on Tuesday evening, which has hampered economic, education and transportation activities.
